In 1978, some jazz fans in Brussels decided to pool their resources in order to record artists that had little chance of being signed by a major label. So they created their own label, giving artists access to production while reflecting the music of the day. The local scene is bursting with jazz talent. The major performers such as Jacques Pelzer, Bobby Jaspar, Toots Thielemans and Philip Catherine confirm this. Other players moved to Brussels. The American sax-player JR Montrose, for example, lived here for nearly twenty years.
